[Small Grant] RelayStream: Native Sia Media Orchestration & Storage Ingestion Engine

Hi @relaystream - thank you for these additional updates. Please provide the code or direct us to the specific repo(s) which were the source behind your video demos as the actual code is what is of most interest for review.

@mecsbecs

Thank you for the follow-up.

I have expanded the RelayStream repository and added additional documentation to make the demonstration materials and supporting implementation work easier to review.

Repository:

https://github.com/tvmateocmd-design/open-strm-standard

Added review materials:

• Sia Storage proof-of-work documentation

• HLS ingestion workflow example

• Sia integration architecture notes

These materials correspond to the Sia evaluation work demonstrated in the proof video and provide additional context regarding the RelayStream Open Ingestion Engine architecture currently under development.

Thank you again for the feedback and review.

Hello @relaystream - thank you for this additional information.

However, please note we are pausing the intake of new grants into the Grants Program for a couple of months to prioritize the completion of our long term program strategy. Project ideas are always welcome in the ‘Ideas’ subcategory of the Forum, but new proposals will not be reviewed during this pause.

The pause will be effective immediately until end of Q3.

More information can be found here:

We can keep this proposal in ‘Proposed’ so it can be edited and re-evaluated once the program re-opens.

@mecsbecs

I’m trying to understand the sequence of events. On June 21 I was informed the proposal would proceed to the June 23 committee meeting. After that, I completed each additional request for proof of experience and repository documentation, including same-day updates when requested. The subsequent announcement that new proposals were being paused until the end of Q3 came as a surprise. Could you help me understand whether RelayStream was reviewed by the June 23 committee before the pause, or whether the pause occurred before the scheduled review? I’m simply trying to understand where the proposal stands in the process.

Hi @relaystream there wasn’t an opportunity to review the proposal before the pause, unfortunately, as I was unable to provide all materials to the Committee in advance of the meeting. My apologies for not clarifying this before.
