CryptoConnect is a collaborative platform designed to facilitate idea sharing and project collaboration within the Sia ecosystem and beyond. It provides a space for users from diverse blockchain communities to connect, work together, and drive innovation.

Key Features (Phase 1):

  • Collaborative Workspaces: Virtual spaces for managing projects and team collaboration.
  • Idea Boards: Interactive boards for posting, discussing, and voting on ideas.
  • Real-Time Chat: Instant messaging for seamless communication.
  • Document Sharing: Secure sharing of documents and files within workspaces.
  • Task Management: Basic tools for task assignment, deadline setting, and progress tracking.
  • Like and Comment System: Ability to like and comment on ideas, posts, and shared documents to facilitate feedback and engagement.

How does the projected outcome serve the Foundation’s mission of user-owned data?
CryptoConnect supports the Foundation’s mission by utilizing Sia’s decentralized storage to ensure that user data and communications remain secure and under user control. By facilitating collaboration and interaction across blockchain communities, CryptoConnect enhances Sia’s visibility while upholding the principles of data ownership and privacy.

Milestones for Phase 1 (4-month plan):

  1. Month 1-2:
    Design user interfaces and experiences for workspaces, idea boards, and the like/comment system.
    Develop core functionalities: chat, document sharing, task management, and basic like/comment features.
    Begin initial testing with a small user group to gather feedback and refine features.

  2. Month 3:
    Refine the collaborative features, including like and comment functionalities, based on initial feedback.
    Conduct further testing to ensure stability and usability.

  3. Month 4:
    Prepare for a beta release to a broader user base.
    Collect user feedback and identify areas for improvement.

Budget for Phase 1:

  • Development Costs: $5,500
    Includes coding and implementing core functionalities: workspaces, chat, document sharing, task management, and like/comment system.

Design Costs: $2,500
Covers user interface and user experience design, including like and comment features.

  • Server Costs: $1,000
    Covers server expenses for testing and deployment.

  • Contingency Costs: $1,000
    Reserved for unforeseen expenses and additional adjustments based on feedback.

Total Phase 1 Cost: $10,000

Phase 2 (Future Expansion):

Post-Phase 1, the following features will be developed in Phase 2:

  • User Profiles: Enhanced profiles showcasing skills, interests, and past projects.
  • Discussion Forums: Advanced forums for more detailed discussions.
  • Event Scheduling: Tools for managing virtual meetings and collaborative sessions.

Thanks for the update. The committee typically meets every other week, but due to other obligations their next meeting is scheduled for October 15. This will be on the docket for review then.
