NAS Sotrage Support

Hi there, just wondering what are the chances of getting a select option on the Sia UI for external storage like a NAS box or something along the lines... i wouldnt mind to be able to utilize my 4 disk NAS box in order to serve as a host provider. Maybe an interface option for where a selection of network disks associated to the computer could be selected for where SIA could utilize ... just my two cents...

Unless you actually mount your NAS drives onto the local filesystem (using NFS, SMB or a FUSE driver if you're on Linux, for instance), I have no idea how Sia would be able to access them in ad-hoc ways.

simple interface for network storage access, and integrate it into the UI as an option to HDD space allocation selection

I think it would make sense for Sia to look at something like Synology Docker https://www.synology.com/en-us/dsm/app_packages/Docker
I think this would let you port into the popular Syno ecosystem without too much hassle and would connect you to a major source of data to be backed up and storage capacity.
Im not technical so i cant know if its feasible, but it seems worth the investigation.

It's something we will look into further down the line. We need to make sure the core hosting and renting features are working well before we start reaching out into the rest of the ecosystem.
