Updated client?

Good job! We are waiting for updates.

The second release is going to have some huge upgrades to both the host and the renter, upgrades which will initially break compatibility. Then we'll follow with a third release that restores compatibility.
Will this update enable support for hosts without static IPs?
-
Probably not yet. We've got all the groundwork in place but still need a peer network (we have a peer network, but it doesn't communicate host information yet). There's some pretty easy stuff we could add, but I think it'll be in a later version.

when is client update is going to be released?
we all are waiting for that news

We were hoping the rc for the networking updates would be ready today. The only thing that's missing is this: https://github.com/NebulousLabs/Sia/pull/1013
Well, that and some small fixes to
siacand an adjustment to the default bolt settings for Windows users. But it's little enough that it could be ready today.

hii Taek
when is update going to be released?
which updates will come out and what are the major changes we can observe?
when is sia coming to mainstream?
-
Update is on the way, already the 0.5.2-rc is out, we're releasing another rc in the next day or two.
The renter and host overhaul is almost complete. We're in the final stages of connecting the renter and host together, and then we've got a lot of code cleanup and testing to do. I'm hoping that we can have an rc for the new renter and host out by the end of March, though realistically it's going to be delayed until April. Quality software takes time, and I'm proud of what we're in the middle of making.
Sia is more mainstream every day :). Word is spreading quickly, and that's being reflected in the price. We are hoping to have the upgraded renter and host out ASAP so people can start using the full product.

I've been running the latest release candidate all week and it is so much faster. I'm really excited about where this project is going, feels like we're on the brink of something genuinely new. Can't wait for the mainstream release.
-
Great work Taek and team. This is very exciting :)
-
Is it mandatory to update to the latest client every time?
-
@mecixo In most cases updating is optional. We try to avoid breaking compatibility between versions. When we do break compatibility, we usually provide a large support window, so you can run an older version for a long time without worrying about desychronizing.
-
Nice thanks!

hii @Taek
when is the main update is going to be released?
-
We're planning on launching 1.0 on June 7th, 2016, exactly 1 year after the launch of the blockchain protocol.
We're hoping to have 0.6.0-rc1 out in 12 days.
