No visibility on siapulse and no contracts yet

  • Hi, trying to set up a node usgin the UI. Wallet contains money, block chain is updated and I've announced my node to the network after allocating 100gb of storage andsetting prices and collateral. No contracts (after 5 hrs) and also no visibility of my IP on the siapulse-map.. Any good suggestions, please? //br larsfloe

Make sure you have forwarded ports 9981 and 9982

  • @Taek: thanx for quick reply. I have verified that my ports are open using http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/. Any other suggestions??

    Update-1:
I see my host... However it shows up in the wrhon city on the map!? ..still no contracts too..

Contracts can take a while to form. Especially new hosts - a lot of new hosts are active for a few days and then disappear. It's not worth spending money on those contracts, so renters will wait a few days before starting to trust new hosts.

IP addresses can only provide a rough estimation of location, the map will not always be perfectly correct.

  • @Taek: I took a view on a few other IP-locators, and they all correctly placed me on the map.. SiaPulse places me in Stockholm, 700km away, obviously a flaw.

  • @larsfloe SiaPulse maintainer here... The site uses a static IP->Geo databases that has not been updated in a while. I will try to have it updated shortly and IPs should then map more precisely.

  • @in-cred-u-lous: Thanx sia pulse maintainer... I did also drop you a note from your site itself..
BTW: reallyh great site :-) I'll watch out to see if my dot moves down to Malmö, where the node is physically placed :-)

Will push an update later tonight, so check again soon.

  • @in-cred-u-lous: thanx a lot for updating. My node moved.. a bit to far to the south landing in the ocean!? I don't know how the geo-tagging works, but i've indicated where it should be on a map - other sites indicates my IP correctly. LInk here

  • @siapulse maintainer; why don't you want to fix the map issue - it does not show correct... I don't live on the water, i'm not a fish. :-)

  • @in-cred-u-lous: Thanx sia pulse maintainer... My node is now sitting on the map more accurately than before... well done
