@bryan It's going to be a bit unstable at this point. I'm in early alpha phase and decided to put it out sooner to get early adopter feedback. Test away and send any feedback my direction. I really don't have any time frame for a stable version until feature complete. Still evolving as Sia continues to implement improvements and features.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes very early. Is this your email for this project?

@bryan it is for the project. you can shoot me any questions there confidentially or i can provide a personal email. either way, just use the email above and we can go from there. thanks for test feedback, as well!

i've encountered issues with antivirus software and things just seem to work better if you can exclude the mounted location. may or may not apply. most of the odd behavior will disappear when sia adds random read but next weeks release should ease some pains as well.

I don't use anti virus in this case. I think it may have something to do with connection sort of like when you try to mount a drive via wifi. I'll await this next release then get with you on email. I put a couple SC in your donation address.

I've mostly moved everything over to Bitbucket - still not fully complete, but good enough.
Alpha 4 will be out on June 4th.

@drexel I'd highly recommend looking at the WinFSP FUSE driver for Windows. From everything I've seen it's a lot more reliable than Dokan and the author is actively working with filesystem authors to add any needed additions to the WinFSP API.
-
@grimmthetallest I have looked at it and may end up switching when FUSE is complete. I haven't experienced any issues with Dokany so there really isn't a pressing need to do so atm. I don't remember exactly why I chose Dokany, but I believe it had to do with matching Win32 Api's more closely. It would be easier to support a single code base and that's why I may just go full FUSE in the future.

I have Slack setup:

@drexel keep up the good work.

Looking for Linux SiaDrive testers. FUSE will be fully merged in a few days and need to see if app launches properly on different distro's. Email [email protected] or post here. Thanks!
-
Also looking for an osx dev that can work on porting code, cmake build and packaging.
-
Just found out about this, time to give it a go!
-
The next alpha will be available soon after Sia 1.3.0 is released. If you have any questions or issues, just submit a bug report on Bitbucket or email [email protected].
-
OSX support is being added to the next Alpha as well. This will officially begin the transition into beta. First beta release will be primarily focused on UX and bug fixes, but don't anticipate new features to be added until Sia implements random read. Random access will result in fairly significant changes, so most likely will be a new major version and current version will enter maintenance mode.
