3. SIA light client

    Hello.
    Today is my fist day with SIA softwate. I am happy that it works :-)
    only block synchronization is very slow :(
    I on 39624th block and it SIA blockchain already weights over 1GB and took over 90min to download and can't see an end...

    My idea is that we have to make it work faster, because SIA promises fast P2P file download service and with this blockchain download over 3 hours… not sure if a new user won't run away, especially if he has little or no experience with bitcoin.

    The solution could be 1) to create SIA light client, or 2) possibility to download whole block-chain as one file in similar way as a torrent movie., why not?

    Hello mano, first off welcome to the Sia network!

    The initial blockchain download can take a while and there are a few ways to speed the process up, but right now development is focused on making the Sia platform as stable as possible. In the mean time several people are providing links for partial blockchain downloads that may speed up the process, but be careful where you get the file if you decide to go that route.
