One hashboard on my A3 miner not appearing at all

  • My A3 miner started to make a lot of noise and I checked the hashboards in the 'Miner Status'. One of the hashboards (chains) gave no reading - nothing. So I contacted Bitmain and they gave me a response with all the troubleshooting directions.

So, after trying different power supplies, swopping power cables around etc, it seems that one of the hashboards is not working. In the 'miner status' it gives no reading at all. Bitmain stated "On the miner status screen defective chips are displayed as (1)"xxx", (2) "---", or (3) " ASIC≠60". In my 'miner status' screen, there was nothing at all for the failed hashboard - not even a 1 with no reading unless (2)"---" is what Bitmain meant by no reading?

Anyway, it seems I now have to take apart the miner, and send back the faulty hashboard. Obviously, I'm double checking here and on other forums to see whether I can avoid having to send it back but I'm fairly sure I've troubleshooted correctly.

Also, can I continue to run the miner without one of the hashboards?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thx.

  • reboot the miner in the settings. Log in and go to the reboot tab. I have this issue daily, as heat rises the miners need more attention. Hope that helps. If the problem persists send the miner to tomrepair in Commerce, CA; you will need to message Bitmain about the problem first for authorization. Typically fast and easy to ship and get the miner back.

  • Like I said, I followed all the troubleshooting advice given by Bitmain but nothing worked. It certainly seems I have a faulty hashboard. Anyway, I'll have to return. Nevermind.

  • Hi I had the issue for a while too. I discovered that depending on your environment, where you keep your miners that if you disconnect all your cables.

pop out the control board, flip it over you may notice some oxidization between the solder points on your board. It looks all white and powdery.

I grabbed a new firm bristle toothbrush and scrubbed it out. If it is there, it creates artificial jumps between circuits and the machine does not recognize the hash board.

BOOBmain, told me the same this as you, dead hash board. Once i cleaned the gunk out she purred like a kitten.

Hope this helps. I do take donis at:

    If this fixes your prob.
