What is the meaning of symbol "||" in whitepaper

I have seen similar word "H(t||“output”||i)" in the whitepaper, but I didn't quite understand what the symbol "||" meaning. From my experience, "||" is meaning "or" operation in coding, but it sounds not make sense. Did it mean concatenation or something else?
