Mining Help, 2x GPUs using Marlin hash seems inconsistent?

  • Hi Guys,

I have been mining using Marlin for the last week pretty happliy at around 1100MHs on my GTX1060

i recently installed my old GTX960 into my PC as well which bumped up my hash to 1700MHs give or take but i have lost the consistency of accepted hashes,

They range now from 300 to 1100 and very rarely up to 1700, googled the heck out of the question but cant seem to find an answer.

Both cards are registering in marlin running it stock standard no overclock or changed settings, using an intensity of 28.

    more curious than concerned

    Thanks

  • I've heard that cards may be throttling in dual GPU configs due to excessive heat in the case. Check the temperature and speed of your GPUs during mining to see if that may impact the # of hashes.

  • Indeed, I would start with the temperature first.

  • yeah thought of that too. I use HWMonitor, both only get to around 65-70 Deg C so well within the safe limits i guess.

EDIT: I have alot of cooling on the PC so its pretty easy to keep everything in check

  • Another thought - what happens if you run two separate miners (could probably both be Marlin) on the cards?

  • @maol sorry for the delay all, that time of year!

thats a good idea i shall try that and see what happens,

i tried with some other miners/different coins and only seems to be with marlin.
