Losing SIA coins by host, NO DOWNTIME

  • Hello, I am totally new to this so forgive me if this is a noob question... but why am I chargared more than I earn when I host? I have 0 downtime (ccminer or claymore have been running at 100%).

I pressed "announce" to broadcast my hosting, sure fine thats ok to charge me for. But suddenly i was deduced 71 SIA coins. For what? I have the transactionid but i have no idea how to get any useful info to describe what the fee was for.

I have 15 hosts, 45 expecting coins and I get charged 71 coins for what?

If I must pay more to host then i earn... then surely i will reconsider

  • Remember that you're trusting your money to unfinished and unpolished software.

Before doing anything with it that may cost you money you should read the relevant available information (hoster's guide, FAQ, getting started) and then decide if you're ready to get started with a little money.

  • Thanks. Your advice is great for preventing fires, but not putting them out. My money is burning away because i open my disk for others to use. If you have a specific paragraph that can point me to the right explanation then please share. Reading through "the hosting handbook" did not cover my problem as far as i could see.

  • It costs some coins to announce the host.

Hosting binds a lot of coins for the collateral (which you get back if you behave well).

Look up the cost & configuration of these two first.

Did you also activate the renter module? In which case this also charges you coins regularly.
