Sia UI not Synchronizing

and thanks for the help, after adding gateway connect 104.168.152.120:9981 to peer list he started sync'ing.

I was very excited to come across this coin and its incredible potential. But, that all chanced when I download the app and installed it.

1st thing, the thing won't sync. After the initial frustration and realization, that have stumbled across yet another vision yet to be read for the G/P. I went searching and found that I had to add gateways to get the app syncing.

I REALLY hope the developers realize the average user WILL NOT use a program that DOES NOT RUN on it's own and do it everytime.

At a the very mininum, the "not synchronizing" messages needs to report WHY and how to fix it.

Please address this so I can feel comfortable recommending the program. A great concept, please address the basics.

Same. For me it was gateways. This worked: https://forum.sia.tech/topic/1781/not-synchronizing

Here's what to do:
In Sia's Terminal enter "gateway list". If like me you'll find it says "No peers to show.". This is the problem.

Fix it by then entering "gateway connect 185.150.28.28:7781" and "gateway connect 120.55.81.163:8087".

Should now sync.

Shame Sia is so.... problematic!

@Dodgums After I found those gateways it started to sync too, but it was taking ages to scan the blockchain and find my wallet. So I closed the client to see if that made a difference, all it did was reset everything forcing me to cmd run siad.exe and re downloading the entire blockchain.

So after much searching and headache this node "gateway connect 104.168.152.120:9981" worked for me

It was quite annoying to go through more than 10 non-working nodes and its quite slow when only one is working...
Agree with other new users that its a shame the wallet is so problematic. Love Sia as it offers great technology (cloud backups) that can and most likely will see widespread adoption in the future. However, as im sure the dev team knows, things like these basic wallet functionalities should be fixed. I read in a reddit post that the Sia team was not doing aggressive promotion at the moment to ensure robust programming before a huge influx of people.
After firsthand seeing the wallet performance I agree with this decision but encourage the dev team to rush this tweaks as Sia is, inadvertently, getting attention and will either encourage others to program a better solution or to look elsewhere..

Go to terminal and type this.
Only one at a time. If there is any error try other one.

I'm having the same issue. My wallet has been syncing for over 24 hours and hasn't moved off of 93.2%. I agree with Craig's post from 2 months ago. A lot of the above suggestions sound like they work but are way over the head of an average user. This has to be click and go or this service and coin are going nowhere. Wondering if the Sia team can provide any updates on when this will be resolved? Thanks
