How to backup and restore wallets?
-
Should I back up wallet.json in the program directory (where siac and siad resides) or the wallet.json in the home directory (~/wallet/wallet.json)?
And how do I restore a wallet if I only have the seed? Do I have to initialize a new wallet and import the seed?
Thanks!

At the moment if you only have the wallet seed you must initialize a new wallet before importing the old seed. Importing an old seed without an initialized wallet is on our todo list. Perhaps it would look something like
siac wallet init <seed>Are you backing up the wallet just to be safe, or are you backing it up to use it as a cold-wallet?

@jordan Thank you. I was trying to move my wallet to a new machine.

I have wrote down the passphase of my first wallet on my office computer. Then I install Sia on my notebook, and create a new wallet, and paste seed, I input the passphase, click load seed, and input the passphase too in wallet password, the system display"error to calling/wallet/seed: the encryption key provided is incorrect!" Why?
