Creating and supporting own blockchain

I was wondering what it takes to create and support one's own blockchain?

It's easy, just clone their github and start using it!
If you want more people to use, then you might want to look into getting a purpose and reason for using a blockchain, open source development, marketing and all these other things that come with trying to get others to use your product... oh, and let's not forget, you'll also need somebody to develop & support that blockchain application :)
