Send Sia to account address
-
Hi guys, I am pretty much a total noob here.
Just for fun I created a Sia account and started mining. Now I had a ETH on Coinbase so I wanted to change it into SIa via ShapeShift. All went good so far but I just took the Account address as Receive address. Is that going to work? I am not sure I understand the difference between a wallet and an account adress which is I guess a pretty stupid thing when starting to trade... :)
So is it possible to transfer something to your miners address and where is my Sia/ETH now?
Thanks for your help

What do you mean by "account address", where did you get that address from?
You can deposit siacoins to your wallet by sending them to the address that shows up when clicking "Receive" in the wallet.

You needed an address for mining first. Where did you get that one?
The only way you can get your address is by running the Sia wallet. If you got that address for mining from your wallet by clicking the receive "button", you can use that same address for every possible incoming transactions (shapeshift, bittrex or whatever source of SC)
It can be confusing you receive a different address every time you push the button. But your wallet can and will have a lot of different addresses that are all valid (and do not expire) for receiving SC.
