I think on this issue is to work thoroughly: how is it that the blockchain database size 7gb downloading about 10 hours? why I was able to upload about 20GB of data in half an hour and the blockchain downloading so long? at least it looks stupid. and as a maximum - beats all the desire to use it.
is here answer on this? i see nothing about blockchain syncronization speedup in roadmap
why i need whole blockchain to use sia???

Downloading the block chain doesn't take long.
"Building" a copy of the block so your client can confirm all transactions is what takes so long. It's disk intensive. You are running a full node. The time it takes to build a full node is the same with LTC or BTC as well (Longer, as those blockchains are many times larger.)
You didn't have to build the entire block chain, a little bit of research would have allowed you to download the consensus in full, and scan it. This would have taken 10-30 minutes depending on your computer.

@underflow let me support xurious statement; SIA is currently relatively experimental. That is the mindset I think you need to have to use and engage in this project which has great great long run potential.. It is as is not easy to access and to use - it has a ligth geekly touch to it, given its current state - wellcome to the forum - looking forard to interact with you :-)
