Sia coin donation required to start hosting

  • @rollingmonkey
    Just continue to mine...
Believe me, it is not worth to start hosting asap if you are short on funding. You get a lot more by mining than by hosting.
Hosting at present is just donating to the Sia network. You will not earn a single SC a day if all you have is less than 2000 SC. And it definitely does not cover the energy bill for the computer running the host.

  • @rollingmonkey

Instead of asking for donations, 2000SC is a little less than $15.50 USD at the moment. If you can pay for the electric bill that you're running your system on, Im sure you could deposit about 20 dollars on one of the exchanges and buy some SC and then transfer it to your host wallet.

@casbot1969 I dunno about that. It's a fiasco trying to get your coins to wallet from exchange. Better off to just mine it directly into the wallet. I'm glad I never bought any sia coins.

Really, I transferred from Poloniex the other day and it was here within minutes. I'll go try to transfer a little bit right now and see how fast it goes and will let you know.

@casbot1969 It may work fine most of the time. But I have 400+ posts in this forum mostly dealing with failed transfers from exchanges. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  • @rollingmonkey

Well I stand corrected. Looks like at the current moment they've disabled depositing and withdrawing SC's. I'll test once they reenable.

  • @rollingmonkey

BTW, burst mining is back up and running. They seemed to have gotten their blockchain straightened out and so I got a payout earlier today. If you use pool.burstcoin.party it should work.

  • @casbot1969 yes, i can pay $20; but when i read few forums they said its bit complicated to buy from Australia; i have mined Sia coins as well but its with nanopool and they wont deposit till i reach 1000.

Anyways thanks for your help and i have sorted it out.

  • @rollingmonkey nanopools pays 500 you need to change in settings nanopool with your email like pw

  • Thanks @cooin
