Sia mining with 1080ti and CPU
-
Hello,
My hardware is ryzen 7 1700 + 2X 1080TI
I only get around 5350 MH/s and for my under standing it should be much higher.
I'm using Marlin to mine for two reasons:- I couldn't configure any other miner (I have ccminer, it should work with Sia, but the string in the website isn't right and I couldn't find it alone, yet. Will have to take another look, unless someone here can help.
- For my understanding, it is possible to mine with CPU, I have a miner that supports Sia, but again, it doesn't connect, I'm getting authentication error using the pool here.
- I cannot connect to other pools (like nano pool), again, it is a problem with the string, I'm getting stratum authentication error.
My Marlin string is:
./marlin -H eu.siamining.com:3333 -u wallet.worker-I 28It doesn't work with ccminer, I couldn't use it for cpuminer-multi, and I can't connect to other pools.
Please give me some advices, the 3% tax here is not the issue, but I want to look at other pools too.

I'm assuming you are running linux. That string is for mariln, not ccminer. I had a difficult time getting ccminer to launch but marlin worked great!
The examples in the help ( https://siamining.com/help) are related to linux commands, but they have the windows *.bat files underneath for what ever miner you choose.
You can down load marlin from here: https://siamine.com/marlin
Hope this helps and good luck. I only started mining for two days

I recommend that you consider downloading and using Claymore dual miner. Mining ethereum/Sia is the best income at the moment. 1080TI is an excellent card for this.

--JayvynI'm working with Linux.
The examples for ccminer (which I use) doesn't work. I can only mine using Marlin, and I'm not sure it's the best miner.

What's the command you are using for CCminer? (And what's the ouptut? or screenshot.)
Edit:
Yes, your mining is slow. I'm getting 2200MH/s on a single 1080.Do NOT cpu mine. That's throwing money down the drain. You are much better off using the money you would use for electricity on CPU mining, and buying sia directly. CPU mining is orders of magnitude slower.

./ccminer -a sia --url=stratum+tcp://eu.siamining.com:3333 -u wallet.worker -i 28
Getting
Statum notify: invalid parameters
Stratum automize answer id is not correct!
Stratum Authentication failed

Using this one:
https://github.com/tpruvot/ccminerThe one you linked does not work with CUDA 8, I'll have to compile it from source.
Edit:
Compiled latest (8.10) Klaust's CCminer from source. Now it works fine, hash is little higher and now stands on around 5445 MH/s

Right, TPruvots is incompatible.
Glad to hear it's been changed.
Also your intensity is low. I'm running 30 on my 1080's.
