Transferring Contracts / Files to New Computer
-
Hi, I started a host for testing purposes on one of my computers. I ended up building a larger server with a lot more storage and wanted to transfer the stored files and contracts to the new computer. Can anyone help me figure out how to do this? Is it possible right now?
Thanks!

If you do not plan to use old computer for Sia anymore then moving both (main data storage AND wallet/blockchain/hostDB) entire data folders to new computer should work fine.
- Setup Sia on new computer, do NOT announce this new host to network.
- Stop Sia on old computer.
- Replace data folders on new computer (default location for wallet/blockchain data in %APPDATA, data storage - any you set) with copy from old.
- Start Sia on new computer.
- Add new additional data folder or edit existing one to use more space on disk(s).
- If new computer have different external address - re-announce new host to sianetwork (if you do not use static address and manual port forwarding this should happen automatically)

please provide detailed file/folder names, I have a month old host and a new machine dedicated to continue hosting. i am not entirely sure exactly what files to move and what files not to move. i am not the expert but i can follow instructions written for my level. Thank you in advance. im also having problems resizing my data folder, i set it up originally with 700GB. i have 11.3 gb of data stored. i dont have a flash drive thats 700gb so in my mind i think resizing the folder down to the minimum will help me move the files to the new machine. all help is appreciated.
