How to change the port Sia uses?

  • Hello,

So my problem is that I use a VPN and it only allows me to randomly forward ports. Is there a way to change the ports sia uses? thank you

    Best, Jake

@joocy_j there's a config file you can edit.

  • @bryan Are there instructions anywhere on how to do this? I have pretty limited knoweldge of these things.

@joocy_j Open the file look for the port you want to change. You should be able to do a search of the directory for config. I don't remember where exactly it is.

Thanks. This is what I see in the terminal:

    "Usage:
    /Users/jake/Desktop/Sia host [flags]
    /Users/jake/Desktop/Sia host [command]

    Available Commands:
announce Announce yourself as a host
    config Modify host settings
folder Add, remove, or resize a storage folder
sector Add or delete a sector (add not supported)"

Then, I typed in "/Users/jake/Desktop/Sia host config"

but I got an error. Can you help me please? Thanks

  • run siad with --rpc-addr and --host-addr, or set rpc-addr and host-addr in Sia-UI's config.json

  • @xurious

Can you explain this to me like I am a child? I have no idea what I am doing. Thank you so much

  • Okay I did this and I think it worked:

    host announce 193.138.219.244:9399

    Host announcement submitted to network.

The host has also been configured to accept contracts.
    To revert this, run:
    siac host config acceptingcontracts false
