    If I wanted to host like 1 TB of space, then would I need to keep my PC on at all times if I got a contract? Or is hosting not really for everyday home PC's?

    Also is there a risk that all my internet bandwidth could be used or my PC slowed if someone is uploading/downloading to the storage while I do other stuff?

    The quick and simple answer to all your questions is "yes".
    You can't predict the time the renter wants to upload or access his files on your host. Thus your host needs to be accessible all the time.
    The other questions depend on your available internet bandwidth and your PCs processing power. It will affect, the question is if you would notice it.
    If you have a slow connection, every upload/download decreases the remaining usable bandwidth significantly. If your PC has limited RAM and slow harddrive, the slowdown of the system will be noticeable.
