Questions about Sia Wallet
-
Hi Dev,
I've just installed my sia wallet v.0.5.2 beta on a linux laptop, everything is fast and smooth, even the blockchain synced at 1 hour or less with 8 peers, pretty fast for me.
Questions:
-
Is there any safe way to close sia wallet?
Because, when i close it and restart my laptop, sometimes siad is not responding, it's done by copying my back up wallet to be merged at the old folder again. -
Will you create a web wallet?
I'm just curious, as per question #01, maybe it would be much more safer to have a web wallet rather than keep my coin at exchange. -
Can we add Sia to another exchange?
This morning, i can't opened Poloniex and scared me to hell :D .... after having all my coin back (when polo got online), i sent all of my coin to my wallet.
Thank you so much for your attention.
I have faith on Sia since the very beginning and now i'll keep buying it at any reasonable price :), hope these questions would not bother you.Regards.

By closing and restarting your laptop do you mean a proper reboot, or just recovering from hibernation?
Closing the UI should also close
siad(the Sia daemon). Give it a few sec to close properly. You may have to right-click the toolbar icon and selectShutdown Siaor something to that effect. You can also shutdown Sia via the command line with
siac stopin the folder where the executablesiacresides.- Will you create a web wallet?

The Sia GUI is basically a web-wallet. It is based on Electron, which is a stripped down version of Chrome. All the pages in the GUI are programmed just like web pages.
Anyway, that probably didn't answer your question. As for an alternative web-wallet, there are of course security issues and I don't think it is planned by anyone yet.
- Can we add Sia to another exchange?
Siacoin was just recently added to Cryptomic.com. There you can also trade Siacoin against Bitshares, BitUSD and BitCNY. The volume on that exchange is still low, but is improving by the day.

Web wallets in the sense of wallets that you can get from the Internet (like, webpages that act as wallets) are pretty widely regarded to be highly insecure. Keeping your coins in Poloniex is probably a lot safer than a standard web wallet. We strongly recommend that all users run their own instance of 'siad'.

I also think the wallet can be made better.
I do not know how to use the client.. we would better add a How to Use page.

We fully intend on making a series of 'How to X on Sia' guides after the 1.0 release in June. Now that the 0.6.0-rc client is in the wild, most everything else should be downhill.
