How to cancel contracts/remove allocation
-
Could you, please tell me how to remove allocation? I don't need this storage for now. Thank you

@guliaka I think the way you cancel is delete all your files and then let the contracts lapse and it will return your unused SC. I think this time frame is 6 weeks.

@bryan- anyway to get better information on the renting side of SC. Its very limited if non existent. I have some info for experience.. and would rather not waste SC trying to figure it out. Any info is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

@moorsc0de I understand. I wasted 3000 SC trying to learn. It is fairly simple though. Set your limit. It will deduct some fees. Then you can start uploading files. It will continue to deduct fees as you send data and the longer you have files stored. Though the last time I messed with it, it stalled at x.3 upload so it would not complete an upload.

@bryan I have seen the stall, but upon a reload of the UI- they completed. I have posted in the slack about how many files can a renter send at 1 time as that seems to have some impact on the load of the UI and also the hanging up of the transfers... d/ling and uploading.
Like you I spent 5000 SC learning.. but the key is I am learning what this can and cannot do for the moment.

@bryan upon closer investigation- thereis no way to see how much I have been charged for the small amount of time I rented. All I can see is the fees I paid and the remaining and when I consider what I uploaded.. there is about 1500 SC unaccounted for. Also the 5000SC allowance only paid for 900+MB of data versus the estimate 10TB ..thats way off. Def need a way for renters to see the details before and after buying. IMO

I believe allowance contract fees are unresonably high at this stage of network development. Utilization of network is only about 2%. And experements with renting are quite expensive. We need definitelly lower allowance contract fees or maybe even remove them for some time.

@moorsc0de yes I they will need to make more user friendly updates for sure.
