What will happen if the port 9982 is banned by ISP

  • Hi,

Since File Sharing will become a killer feature in the near future. It's expected to have some illegal or improper files stored on Sia. So, if a government would like to stop some files from sharing, an easy way it can do is to stop all the sia traffic by banning the Sia port (e.g.: 9982).

So my questions are as follow:

    1. What will happen if the port 9982 is banned widely? Will my data be lost in that condition?
    2. If the port is not fixed. Is it possible for ISP to sniff all the Sia network traffic and ban it?
    3. What if NSA / CIA / FBI ask Nebulous to delete some illegal files?

The host could just change the port to any port you wanted. It's unlikely that the government could get a warrant for data that they can't even prove exists. It would take the NSA 10 decades to even read the file.

  • @sc Its hard/ impossibleto tell whats illegal if it is encrypted and then sharded across the world on different nodes. Unlikely scenario.
