My wallet address frequently changes
-
@bryan Hi Bryan, thanks for your response but i'm afraid it's still not quite clear to me.
Does that mean that in the end my wallet will contain the sum of the balance of all the temporary addresses i've ever had? do i have to do anything special on my sia-ui wallet to be able to see and retrieve the balance of all my addresses or does that happen automatically?
-
@naterac it just works that way, automagically. It's a privacy feature - you're free to use your old addresses (e.g. for receiving mining pool payments), but it's not required.
-
@naterac Yes. Any address you have used should still be able to receive coins.

Hello. I am trying to withdraw SIA from Bittrex to SIA wallet so that I can initiate hosting. SIA seems to be an interesting project BUT the initial setups were very frustrating. Once completed I thought that transferring funds & start hosting will be a breeze! However, everytime I try to withdraw from Bittrex to fund my SIA wallet Bittrex shows "invalid" error. God knows either it is invalid transaction OR invalid address or what! Do any of you guys have faced this problem? If yes, kindly share the solution... Thanks.

@bryan Hi Bryan, well today i got the first Sia deposit from nanopool here https://explore.sia.tech/hash.html?hash=36f2ac7d0b17941fd26eca8f35f231f7d5c402748fc8bbc6f42e0b90542f378af54192634ddc which was the first address that my wallet gave me when i opened it, however, the balance in that address does not show up in my wallet. Any clues? did i lose the coins?

@naterac Someone just asked same question in slack. Seems nanopool has to verify certain number of blocks before payment will go thru.. typical of any crypto... this is usually expressed in # of confirmations before releasing the coins.
This may move fast- but may also move slowly... I would say give it time to confirm.. then give it time to confirm on Sia UI side.
-
naterac, how long did it take for your payment to get confirmed on nanopool? i had a payout and I'm still waiting for my to be confirmed, https://sia.nanopool.org/account/db8060a487744e9c14e8be8ae3177a3d62bc9e21640f8dfc7312cf1a3e8b7f7a7f188daec272.
moorsecode, that was probably me asking ealier in slack

@epyon , @moorsc0de My payment was confirmed on nano pool "2017-06-20 16:36:12", so i guess that's still to early? I just thought that if i could see it in the sia hash explorer that meant my wallet should have picked it up because it says it's 100% synchronised. I guess i'll just keep waiting then.
-
@naterac There delays... given volumes and spikes in users with crypto- delays are a result of mining capacity as well.
-
I emailed them yesterday, and they had some errors processing sia transactions. they said it should be done within 24 hours for my transaction.
update
payout completed!

@epyon Who did you email exactly?
-
i sent an email to nanopool support, [email protected]. they said my payout would happen to my wallet in 24 hours. I saw the payout on nanopool, now I'm waiting for it to show up in my wallet. its been about a day now, I hope it shows up soon.
