i read this in guide...
If the entire allowance period elapses and you do not renew your allowance, your hosts will delete your files, leaving them unrecoverable.
this looks dangerous. so if i run out of siacoin, or something else goes wrong i can loose all data?

Why yes, of course! This is the essence of cloud services; you don't own, you just rent. In this case you rent storage space and buy for upload/download.
It can be even worse than the example you give - your files may still be stored on hosts, but if you don't have enough coins to pay for the download, then you won't get them back.
Meaning - if your files are critical to you, then always have enough money ready to buy for backing them up & recovering them and to pay the rent. If not, then feel free to use a free service, with the security, performance and availability guarantees that these come with...
