SIA client - need synchronizing to complete before sending SIA to wallet?

    Hello,

    I have downloaded the SIA client, and it has started synchronizing and downloading the blockchain.
    Do I need to wait for the entire blockchain to download before I can send my SIA from Poloniex to my wallet?

    Also, if I send my SIAcoins to my wallet and wait for 1 year until I want to sell my SIAcoins, will I need to re-download the entire blockchain before being able to send my SIAcoin out of my wallet?

    I guess what I'm really looking for is a simple desktop wallet, but I have not been able to find this anywhere.
