[Need Help]: SIA Blockchain

  • Hello,

I'm using SIA client version 0.5.1 Beta on W7 64 bit now, but stuck at 22120 Blockheight.
Been running the wallet almost 2 days with 2 peers. Does anyone can help in sharing the updated consensus file please?
    Appreciate for any helps.

    Thanks & Regards.

Here is a blockchain that I uploaded at block 39090: http://pixeldra.in/u/nWgO5k It's a little bit outdated, if you need a more recent one I could upload it again when I get back from work. :)

  • Thank you so much Fornax, i will try it.

It is my hope that we can release an official one at block 40,000, alongside the 0.5.2 release.

  • That would be really nice dev, maybe by adding an offline consensus db at sia.tech would be much more nicer :)
By the way, I tried to run SIA client at my vps and it was syncing pretty fast, seems like the internet connection could be the reason why i'm stuck with my wallet at home, since i have small bandwith.

  • @jthor Yes the connection speed is important as well as uptime, whether you're accepting incoming connection or not, etc.

For example on my fastest server I have going, I typically am connected to between 22-36 peers at any given point, when using the client on home connection for testing uploading of my own files, I am sitting between 7-11 peers.

If your chain stops updating entirely, you are probably uh bottlenecked and choked with orphan blocks or similar, I did once delete the entire chain data to force resync and that worked in my case but you shouldn't need to do that generally.
