In June, we made significant strides, despite facing some challenges.
We provided endpoints for book uploads, temporarily using Cloudinary to avoid integration delays.
We also set up a new VPS to run Sia.
We have successfully configured Sia on the VPS and are finalizing the upload API for it.
We encountered CORS errors, which hindered automatic deployment via GitHub. As a result, we had to change some Flutter packages and manually deploy the web app for the time being.
We published the web app to our main domain, www.litpad.app, and are preparing approximately 20 new books in different genres that will be published once we go live to attract some readers before other authors can start publishing.
We resumed internal testing, identifying and fixing several errors. If you’re interested in testing with us, we can share test login credentials with a few volunteers to evaluate the LitPad platform’s functionality.
Moving forward, we will finalize the upload API for Sia, fix UI errors, and improve UX copies. Our marketing efforts will begin afterward with releasing a waitlist to attract initial users before going live publicly.
We’re excited to announce that we finalized the integration of Sia into the LitPad platform in July.
We approached this by generating S3 keys and using the Boto3 library for Sia S3 integration.
Now, uploading books and rendering their cover images work smoothly on LitPad.
We resumed uploading some in-house written books on the platform (which will be live soon) and are still conducting tests for smooth performance.
Most of the UI errors encountered have been fixed, and the waitlist is up as well.
Currently, we’re working towards moving the frontend via Docker to our VPS and using GitHub Actions to allow automatic deployments. We believe the migration to our private server will improve load times and the overall performance of the platform.
We will continue improving and maintaining the platform. We’ll set a date for the waitlist launch, followed by the official platform launch with available fiction stories. We’ll also start working towards user onboarding and rolling out more features in the long run.
We also want to use this opportunity to thank the Sia team for their support and commitment in helping us get this far.
We shall continue offering solutions to empower writers to create without limits and provide readers with quality and affordable fiction stories on LitPad.
