Hi I had tried to install my sia ul since last friday
during the synchronizing the computer got hanged and restart
But after that all is done complete
But when i tried to unlocked my wallet it took forever no matter what I do even after i restart the com it will be forever in unlocking your wallet this may take a while

heres my other question
1 if i want to uninstall it to make a fresh copy how do i do it?
2 what can i do to fix it
3 can i install sia in a external hdd

I had previous version of SIA wallet 1.1.2 and recently downloaded the new version 1.2.0

The wallet does not open and Im glad I didn´t have yet any coins there. Im following you guys for a while to invest some coins but now can´t open the new wallet

Currently there is no way to change the encryption password on an existing wallet. The workaround is, as you guessed, to create a new wallet. The API endpoint /wallet/init/seed can create a new wallet using your existing seed and a new password.

Unfortunately, siac does not currently support the --force flag when using this endpoint. So you have two options:

• Use curl to call the API endpoint: curl -A "Sia-Agent" -X POST "/wallet/init/seed?encryptionpassword=[pw]&seed=[seed]&force=true". I'm not sure if the seed needs to be manually URL-encoded (since it contains spaces) so this could take some fiddling.

• Manually delete your existing wallet folder (while siad is stopped), then use the siac command siac wallet init-seed -p. You will be prompted for your old seed and new encryption password.

Afterwards, unlock your wallet using the new password and it will begin resyncing. This can take a while because the wallet has to process the whole blockchain. Also, you should backup your existing seed and wallet folder beforehand just in case something goes wrong.

EDIT: we just added the --force flag to siac wallet init-seed. It will be included in the next release. Or if you're able to compile Sia from source, you can use it immediately by pulling the latest master branch. :)

I'm running a host on a headless server and want to change the wallet unlock pw from the long and bulky seed to a custom one.

As far as I know the only way to set a custom pw is during the initialization "siac wallet init -p"
Is there another option?
If not, how can I create a new wallet and import the funds and host-contracts from the old wallet?

Siahub.info says my wallet is outdated and I should upgrade my wallet on the host. I was running 1.1.2 before going to 1.2.0. How to do an wallet upgrade (without loosing funds)?

Hello everyone,
I stored some files on Sia network (50+contracts) with the help of Sia-UI on my home PC. Then stopped Sia-UI, archived its content and copied to my virtual machine on another network. Copied siad to this folder and started it.

1. siad started to re synchronize from beginning. Why ???
2. The wallet was impossible to unlock - it asked to init wallet first. So wallet was wiped too? I used siac wallet init-seed and entered the seed from my home PC. So I've got balance on my wallet correctly.
3. All the contracts and anything in renter are not there anymore. In the same time I see everything on my home PC.

Is there any way one can run same wallet/renter folder on two PCs? Is it only because of problems with interchangeability between Sia-UI and siad?

Build the miner software into the wallet so people just starting out can configure a quick and simple miner to get started. As they get better they can get into stand alone miners but a miner build into the wallet would reduce the learning curve.

The wallet should be a fully self contained and one stop shop application for SIA. So mining (being a big part of that) should be built right into the wallet.

Hi all, When creating a wallet it ask for password to unlock the wallet, is that the long chains of phrases that I got in the beginning titled: Seed and Password: Do I include spaces as well. I find when the password box is full its not entering anymore characters. thank you.

Well, I finally got my wallet back. I just came to say how I've done it and the steps I've taken
I do not know if the first 3 steps are necessary if we just want to recover the wallet,I did them just in case.
1- Copy all the files in C:\Users\ "Username"\AppData\Roaming\Sia-UI
2- Save them in a folder
3- Delete all content from C:\Users\ "Username"\AppData\Roaming\Sia-UI
4- Reinstall the wallet (download bc again........)
5- Once the bc has been updated, create a new wallet
6- After this go to "TERMINAL" and type the following: siac wallet load seed
7- It will ask you for the seed of the new wallet we have created, type it and press enter
8- After that It will ask for the seed of the wallet that we want to recover, type it and press enterr
9- Restart SIA-UI and use the new wallet password you created to unlock it.

And that's it, now you have to wait a bit of time until it is unlocked and you should have your SC's of the "old" wallet.

I transfered 2 days ago sia coins from poloniex to my wallet. But the balance in my wallet is still 0.

• The order is marked as "complete" by poloniex.
• The recipient address where I did the the transfer is listed in the list of addresses of my wallet.

Any idea ?
