    Recover account with seed

@brunozisterer In the terminal in the Sia UI I used:

    wallet load seed

The UI will then ask for your wallet password
( I found this pretty confusing myself since the password it wanted was for the NEW Wallet password generated by Sia UI 1.0 )

Then the UI will ask for the seed you want to load into the new wallet, here you copy in the seed for your old wallet.
Hopefully everything should now be okay :) If you don't get a error in the Terminal window in the UI.

( Using this method I loaded multiple seeds from old wallets into the new wallet :D )

If you have problems, make sure you created a new wallet before trying to load the old seed into it.

And remember you cannot see any Sia in your account before the blockchain is completely loaded.

    Hope this helps :D

    Sia v1.0 Upgrade Guide

@droghio said in Sia v1.0 Upgrade Guide:

Sia-v1.0 is now available. You can grab your very own copy from Nebulous's release page:

    • Pretty UI version
    • CLI version

For those of you who participated in the beta, first off thank you! Your feedback has helped shape Sia into an amazing crypto-storage platform and community. This guide is meant to help you in the process of upgrading from the beta software (v.52-ui/v.60-cli/v1.0-rc) to the shiny new v1.0 release!

The upgrade process is fairly straightforward. You just need to:

    1. Quit the old version of Sia
    2. Back up your wallet, host, renter, and consensus files
    3. Install the new version of Sia
    4. Move over your old wallet, renter, host, and consensus files (UI only)
    5. Update your miner, if applicable
    6. Launch Sia-v1.0
    7. Celebrate!

    1. Quit the old version of Sia

If you are running an old version of the Sia UI or CLI, you will need to fully quit the program before continuing with the install. Remember that for the UI, closing the main window doesn't fully quit Sia. If you’re running Windows, after you close the main window you'll need to find Sia's icon in the system tray and click Quit. If you’re on a Mac, choose File > Quit and make sure Sia-UI isn’t in the dock.

Due to a bug in some of the older versions, the Sia daemon (siad) might still be running even if the UI quits. This means you will need to make sure siad is closed by using Task Manager, Activity Monitor, or pkill. After you are sure no siad or UI process is running you're ready for the next step.

Note - If you get an error popup saying ECCONREFUSED: 127.0.0.1:9980, it means you didn't fully quit the UI before quitting siad. You'll need to force quit any running Sia-UI process (might be called Electron on Windows) and then hit accept to any remaining error messages.

    2. Back up your wallet, host, and consensus files

You'll need to back up your old wallet, host, renter, and consensus folders to later copy them into your new install. If you are using the CLI, these folders will be at the path you defined with the --sia-directory which defaults to the same directory as your siad binary. If you are using the UI these folders will be in one of the following locations:

    Mac
    • Right click the Sia-UI.app > Show Package Contents > Contents > Resources > app > Sia
    Windows
    • Find your Sia-UI.exe application. In the same location there should be a folder called resources. Go to resources > app > Sia

You'll need to copy almost everything in this folder to a safe place. Make sure you DO NOT accidentally copy over the old versions of siac or siad. The most important folders are the wallet, renter, and host folders. The consensus and miner folders will be automatically regenerated by Sia if necessary, but it won't hurt to copy them over. When in doubt, make a backup. You can always delete a folder you don't need later, but it's pretty hard to undelete it.

    3. Install the new version of Sia

Now for the fun part, time to unwrap your newest version of Sia! If you haven't already go get the latest v1.0 release from one of these links:

    • Pretty UI version
    • CLI version

Sia-v1.0 comes in two flavors, a classic command line client (CLI) and a rather fetching graphical client (UI). After downloading the version you prefer, unzip/untar the binary and move it to where you plan to keep it.

    4. Move over your old wallet, host, and consensus files (UI only)

    Sia-CLI

If you’re just using the command line, no new configuration is necessary. Once siad is launched, feel free to set a custom data path with the --sia-directory flag and continue on your merry way, or skip this step and continue with the guide.

    Sia-UI

Sia-UI v1.0 changes the default data storage location. You will need to copy the folders you backed up in Step 2 to the following location:

    Mac

    ~/Application\ Support/Sia-UI/sia

    Windows

    C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Sia-UI\sia

You may need to create the Sia-UI and Sia directories. Copy over the folders you backed up in Step 2. Once you put your old wallet, renter, and host folders in this location, you should be good to go. Adding your old consensus folder is not necessary but will speed up the initial sync time considerably.

    5. Update your miner, if applicable

If you were mining using the previous versions of Sia, you will need to update your miner. The API endpoints are different for Sia-v1.0+ and you will need a compatible miner. The stock sia-gpu-miner has been updated and can be downloaded here:
    Sia miner

A popular third party miner written in Go is also available, and the latest version is compatible with the v1.0 API:
    Rob Van Meighem’s Go miner

    6. Launch Sia-v1.0

Time for the final step. Go back to where you installed Sia-v1.0 and (wait for it) launch it! Then pause for a minute (or maybe a few; instant wallet unlocking is still in the works) before you...

    7. Celebrate!

You are now running the newest, sleekest decentralized, distributed storage solution on the market! Hope you enjoy the latest release, and as always feel free to reach out to the Slack or forum with any questions or comments.

Finally, thank you for being part of the Sia community. We couldn’t have done this without you!

    Hey,guy

Now can i also use V0.6 for mining ?

Ok so in Hosting, it says '16.19 S earned', and '0.63kS to be earned' woo hoo!
