How to unlock wallet after SIA UI download

@bryan Thanks for the reply. I have deleted the wallet, deleted the entire folder, and reinstalled SIA multiple times and not once have I "created" a wallet. Am I missing a step? I am trying to follow the "Get Started" instructions from Sia.tech. Once I open Sia, I see the menu on the left, version 1.2.2. When I click on hosting, I get "You must unlock the wallet to host files". When I click on Wallet, I get "Wallet Locked. Enter your wallet password to unlock the wallet". I do not have a wallet password. At what point did I create a wallet? The same messages occurred when I deleted the wallet folder as well as reinstalled.

Removing Wallet on Mac - having problems with locating wallet in terminal

I know I'm suppose to remove the file from ~/library/application support/sia-ui/sia/wallet but when I try to remove those files the directory is not found. Is application support a file I can cd into? WTF!!!

    When I type:

    cd /application support

it says no file or directory. Can someone please help me remove this wallet? I lost the password and I want to start hosting files, but can't seem to restart Sia with a new wallet.

    Question to SIA admins

@Fornax said in Question to SIA admins:

You can't lose coins that you never received in the first place.

When you send coins to your wallet just make sure that the blockchain is in sync (you can see it in the top right corner of your wallet window). If it's not in sync your coins will show up once the client is done syncing.

If the coins never leave poloniex you can't do anything but contact their support, they will try to resend the transaction.

EDIT: Also make sure that your wallet is always updated to the latest version (currently 1.2.2). Sia has seen a lot of wallet bugs, luckily most of them are just the way transactions get reported in the GUI, and not how many coins you actually have. These bugs are frequently getting patched, so update your wallets!

i had problems with sia wallet from start first there was small amount missing in diferent adreses n later i decidet to send them to poloniec 3400 coin i copied the adres and send them but there was not the adres i coiped i checked every place i could made mistake but this adres it is not in poloniex and not in my area anywhere

e0d0a41a21c9d56cfd03dbadfb29f71c588aea52abdf9ab402c27c94bba2ce49 this is that adres wallet that my coins been send .i think there is to much problems with your wallet.

Does the command "wallet addresses" display all addresses ever created for a wallet?

Or just those generated with the given iteration of the UI? I made a wallet with Sia UI running on my PC, and I thought I had put my seed into a text file, along with my address (this was a while ago, so I could be remembering wrongly, but my posts from this time back this up). I now have that text file on my laptop, but the seed shows a balance of 0 SC and the command "wallet addresses" does not display the address. This is annoying as the address has some Sia in it.
TL:DR when the command "wallet addresses" is put into the UI terminal, is it possible for it to not display an address generated with an old version of the UI on a different computer?

How do I delete my Sia account?! There's not even an option?

    @benlo626
First thing you need is to find where your sia-UI config/data folder is. That is the one containing following subdirectories:
    consensus
    gateway
    wallet

I hope you know how to search your linux machine for a folder named "consensus" or "wallet".

To delete your Sia wallet you just delete the folder named "wallet" (kill the siad process before that).
To completely delete your "Sia account", delete all contents of the folder where you found these subfolders. And burn the paper where you wrote down your seed.
Though, the "account" (wallet) will remain on the blockchain, you (or anyone else) will never use it.

But if you consider starting over and try Sia one more time, look into all these subfolders. There are logfiles where you could find the faulty module preventing startup.
For example, a normally running node logfiles look something like:
    tail consensus.log

My node is running fine, so I have no errors to show as an example...
But you should see something suspicious, if sia-UI does not start.
Just delete the fault containing folder and start siad.

To restore your wallet from seed, after deleting the wallet folder and starting siad, run
    siac wallet init-seed
    or
    siac wallet init-seed --force

... I'll let everyone know how good this coin is.

Sia isn't a coin. Sia is a storage exchange and the siacoin is just a unit of measure for the storage valuation and accounting.

Created a wallet wrote down my seed and password. Next day was forced to create a new wallet with new seed and password.

I downloaded the wallet and wrote down my seed and password. The next day, Sia created another wallet for me and a new seed and password. In confusion, I closed Sia and now I can't unlock my wallet. So I'm assuming I can't get a wallet now. Hope Sia fixes this. Till then I'm really frustrated. Things are off to an extremely bad start with this software. For now I would not recommend getting this coin.

Sia-Ui Wallet Error : when calling /wallet/sweep/seed: cannot sweep primary seed

@Jo7410 said in Sia-Ui Wallet Error : when calling /wallet/sweep/seed: cannot sweep primary seed:

As the Tittle Suggest i am having a problem with my Wallet.

Everything started when i sent 25 000 Sia from Poloniex to my Wallet.

At that exact moment the Blockchain was completly Sync with my Wallet, so i made the transaction and it was complete on Polo in less then 10 min, i was satisfied but then i went to my wallet to realize that the balance was still at 0.

Its Been Now 14h and my balance still show 0, I Tried Uninstalling Sia-UI, clearing the Sia-ui files from my Appdata Folder, tried re-booting, i Tried the recover seed button and also tried to install the Sia-UI on an other computer and tried to recover my Seed, Still Nothing.

I saw on that forum a command to Re-cover a seed from the Terminal, once i had the new seed it made me Sync again with the Blockchain. As i said i've been trying to fix this from 9 am, its now 10 Pm. I don't get it i don't understand did i do anything Wrong...

Just want to clarrify, I am using Windows 10 the Sia-Ui Version is 1.2.2 wich i think is the latest possible to download on the website, the other computer on wich i tried to install The apps is actually a Windows 7 computer and i still get the same error all the time.

    Sia-UI Wallet Error
error when calling /wallet/sweep/seed: cannot sweep primary seed

    alt text

What can i do to Fix this ?

Hey friend, all I did to solve my problem was:
    1-Unlock the wallet
2-Use the "Recover Seed" option (If you have already recovered a wallet before in any version of SIA-UI, you must use the seed of the FIRST wallet you created, not the one you are currently using) <- I do not know if I explain myself but I am using google translator I am Spanish, I say it in case you are, I could explain it a little better in Spanish
    3-Wait
    4-Unconfirmed delta
    5-Wait
    6-Confirmed balance
    7- :)
I do not know if it will be helpful but I think that point 2 may be,good luck.

How to restore my wallet? Is it better with the wallet file or seed?

I invested a few months ago and have a big amount (for me, at least) in SC now.
Problem is that I've created the wallet in a Windows VPS.

I want to restore the wallet in a Linux laptop I have and move it to another wallet on the same laptop.
Since now it's a lot of money, I can't afford any mistakes that might make me lose all that.

If I chose in the current client version "Load a wallet from a seed", it will create a copy of the private keys, not sweep the funds to a new address, correct? So I could still use the seed on another computer if I needed to and recover my funds. Is that so?

    Thanks.

Lost Transfer of Siacoin from Poloniex

I am in the same situation with my Sia wallet on Poloniex. On May, 21st I deposited some BTC to Poloniex. All went pretty well. When my BTC arrived in de BTC wallet on Poloniex, I exchanged them to SiaCoin the same day. All OK by then.

After a few days the SC wallet was set to "Temporarily Disabled" (just like my Bytecoin wallet) and I couldn't deposit or withdraw anymore. At that time (May, 23th), over a week ago now, the SC wallet was active, I quickly tried to withdraw SC to my wallet at Bittrex where SiaCoin just was created. I've copied wallet addresses and all looked fine on Poloniex side. But even after a day the transaction was still in Pending state at Poloniex. I filed a support ticket at Poloniex where I still have no reply on to at all.

In the pending state I've cancelled the withdrawel, and the wallet went back to "Temporarily Disabled". When two days ago (Jun, 2nd) the wallet was active, I quickly started a new withdrawel. I've entered my SC wallet address from Bittrex and within an hour the withdrawel was marked as Complete at Poloniex. Finally?

But now (Jun, 4th), there are no coins received at Bittrex, I can't find any transaction on the Sia Explorer, but my Poloniex withdrawel still says Completed. Therefor I updated my support ticket at Poloniex, hoping all of my SiaCoins will not be vanished...
