  you can just download the latest version and unpack it to a new folder (that's how i do it). You can also overwrite the old files if you want.
  The important data is stored at a different place (%APPDATA%\Sia-UI\sia if you use Windows), so the blockchain, wallet etc. will still be there and the new version will find it automatically.

  I would not worry too much about that number. My host has a percentage of 88%, but i am pretty sure it was running all the time. If i look at SiaHub i see that many of the hosts have percentages between 90% and 95%.

  You must announce your host for it to be seen on the node network. If your NAT and UPNP settings are not setup- then you may get a host of msgs... and also unable to announce because the host is not on the network.

  @RogueBrit The files are 3x redundant so I believe even if you lost one host you will still have the file at two other locations to download from.

  What brand is your GPU (e.g. nVidia)? Make sure that your GPU is compatible with OpenCL. When I was playing around with mining on an old laptop, it took me a while to realize that my laptop's GPU did not support OpenCL and that I would never get mining to work. Once I tried with a more recent laptop that did have a compatible GPU, I was able to start mining.

  Did I get hacked? Are all my SC gone?

  We can't know the answer to these questions, however this is what we know:

  these two transactions happened, and moved the 70k and 75k SC to another address 145k SC were moved to other addresses in two transactions

  So, to put it differently:

  Without forensic evidence from the time of the hard drive there's no way to figure out what happened, i.e. if it's a bug, a hack, a clueless user, or yet something else. The 145k SC are likely gone forever, unless the owners of the wallets belonging to target addresses feel compelled to return them to your wallet, for whatever reason...

  honestly you can't do much with 1000 coins anyway. Only wait till you have mined a reasonable amount. And remember, the TXfee will be the same regardless of the transferred amount, so it will be relatively costly to transfer small amounts.

  Thanks for your responses! I have to say my first experience with Sia as a user has been a sobering one. I guess the product is still pretty early and I'm rooting for it's growth.

  The mentioned file sharing feature should be due this June: https://trello.com/c/7litw6xv
  However, this is file sharing with other users which goes beyond what I am trying (file sharing within the same user account). However, since it seems sia is treating my two devices like separate users it may be what I require.

  So I'll wait. Thanks!

  It was a permission error, I just had to apply...

  sudo chmod -R a+rwx FOLDER

  ...to the containing folder.

  No that shouldn't be possible. But if you remember some of the seed words then you can try to adjust btrecover for your needs. Good luck!

  Just for info. I got my first contract a week after announcement of my host.
  Though I did not offer "aggressive" (low priced) conditions, so if you offer a low price for your services you could get contracts sooner.
  I think the host age could be the main braking force at the beginning anyway.

  @cyb2600 indeed. I've been running Sia Cluster for a few days now, and have not seen that behavior (yet). Not sure what else you can do to figure out what happened.
