Is there a fast way to synchronize?

I've had Sia-UI open for 2 days, and most of the time the status is "Not-Synchronizing". At present, it's only 24.1% synchronized. Can't I download all of the files from somewhere and then overwrite a folder somewhere in particular? Or would this introduce bugs?
As a side note: The delays in downloading the blockchain would give a negative first impression to those interested in uploading files, and as someone who'd like to host, but can't without first having Siacoins - but can't buy them without the ability to see transactions in a wallet - it's negative for the host as well.
While I'm sure it would suck to rely on competition, why not host the entire blockchain on google drive and then update that every so often so that new users could download that, install those files, and then synchronize the rest? or, alternatively, what about a using a bittorrent approach?
