raspberry pi support?

  • i feel like rpi support is essential for Sia. I can tell you personally, I don't want to be running my big pc, and using up its resources and power, for a little storage farm program. I would much rather leave a little raspberry pi running 24/7 instead

@jhip626 I'm not convinced the pi has the processing power to do what you're asking. If it were me I'd get a simple used dual core intel pc and put all my sata drives in it. I believe mine idles at less than 150 watts.

Really? I didn't think it require much processing power to just store and transfer some data

@jhip626 Well I read it is possible to load linux on pi. Suppose you could try it out and give us the results. I'm sure someone will want to use it too.

  • The pi it self does now provide enough power to power your disks, but you can but an active USB hub and connect them to that.

The bottleneck here would be the pi it self. I don't know how much ram and processing power it requires to form contracts etc.
